Recently, steady progress has been made on the Ningbo Beilun Branch Line Duplication and Related Works – Package BLFXSG, undertaken by China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4). Yekun Machinery has partnered with CREC4 to efficiently complete steel sheet pile shoring work for the project.
This project is a key public infrastructure initiative aimed at improving the railway hub layout in eastern Zhejiang and opening a critical sea-rail intermodal corridor for Ningbo Zhoushan Port. Once fully operational, the annual container throughput at Chuanshan Port Station will exceed one million TEUs, significantly enhancing regional freight turnover efficiency and strongly driving the high-quality development of the port-side industrial economy. The project also holds great significance for improving the region’s comprehensive transportation network.
The construction scope covers multiple bridge and culvert foundation pits and river-crossing embankment works within Yinzhou District. The sites are adjacent to existing roads, navigable rivers, and old bridges, resulting in confined working spaces, strict environmental protection requirements, and high safety standards. These conditions impose extremely demanding requirements on the performance of piling support equipment and on-site technical services.
Leveraging its strong equipment capabilities and extensive experience in infrastructure projects, Shanghai Yekun Machinery Co., Ltd. has successfully deployed its VIBRA series hydraulic pile driving and extracting equipment across the entire project line. In addition, a dedicated technical team has been stationed on site to provide comprehensive full-process technical support, including equipment commissioning, construction guidance, fault diagnosis, and regular maintenance – ensuring smooth and orderly site operations.
During construction, the VIBRA series hydraulic vibratory hammers have demonstrated key advantages: high-frequency vibration, low disturbance, strong penetration capability, and stable operation. They have efficiently driven and extracted various sizes of Larsen steel sheet piles, quickly forming standardized earth-retaining and water-sealing foundation pit support systems. In combination with a steel waler and steel strut support system, the setup precisely controls lateral displacement and settlement of the foundation pit. While maintaining construction progress, it minimizes the impact of vibrations and noise on adjacent existing bridges, river systems, and沿线 structures. The work fully meets the project’s requirements for safe, environment-friendly, and responsible construction, laying a solid foundation for subsequent major processes such as bridge pier cap pouring and pier column placement.
Going forward, Shanghai Yekun Machinery will continue to keep pace with the project schedule, strengthen on-site equipment operation and maintenance support, and rely on reliable piling machinery, proven construction experience, and meticulous supporting services. We will fully cooperate with CREC4 to meet key construction milestones, help ensure the timely completion and opening of the Ningbo Beilun Branch Line Duplication Project, and contribute to the vigorous development of regional transportation infrastructure through practical results and solid capabilities.
